INSECTICIDAL SOAP
PRODUCT NAME: Insecticidal Soap.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Non toxic soapy material which can be applied
onto any plant. It works by suffocating targeted insects
and though is very safe to use, it will not last long.
It generally only lasts when wet and once dry will
not be active so expect to have to use it several times
to get control.
TARGET PESTS: Many insects including codling moth larva and adults.
WHERE TO USE IT: Directly on the tree spraying over limbs, leaves,
buds and fruit.
RATE OF APPLICATION: Use 2.5 ounces per gallon of water and be sure
to get thorough coverage to insure as complete of a kill
as possible. Spraying to run off is OK but remember that
codling moths are just as likely to be hiding underneath
leaves and limbs so it is important that you make an
effort to direct your spraying in this direction. Treat
every few days once adult activity has been seen on or near
trees you want to protect. Since this product does not
provide any residual action you will need to spray over
and over again to get the best protection. Use the Permethrin
concentrate if you want something that lasts longer.
