BRIDGER COIL LEGHOLD TRAP
PRODUCT NAME: Bridger Coil Leghold Trap.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This is the traditional designed trap
which leg holds the target animal. Used for many animals including
beaver, bobcat, fox, coyote and nutria just to name a few. The smallest
one above will only work for the very smallest of Nutria since
they have large feet. # 2's and # 3's, the traps in the middle
and on the right side of the photo above will be better suited
for most nutria trapping programs. This short video will show
how to set the #3 trap. Keep in mind the process is the same for
the #2 but for demonstration purposes, the larger #3 is better
for us to use in the video.
WHERE TO USE IT: Bridger coil traps can be set many different
ways. These include den sets, tree set or food sets. One of the
most effective ways to use them is in a food set. By placing a
pile of corn out where you have seen activity or nutria sign,
they will find it and start to feed on your offering. Coil
traps can then be set around this area - but not directly where
the seed is placed - so that as the nutria walk around grazing
they will inevitably step on one of the traps.
RATE OF APPLICATION: This will vary from job to job.
Generally, the more traps employed, the quicker you catch your
target animals. Although you can start with only one, it is
suggested that you use 2-3 where you can and more if you
have a lot of animals to trap.
