BODYGRIP TRAPS





PRODUCT NAME:   Bodygrip 110, 120, 160 and 220 trap.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:   Kill trap which works quickly on target animals. It
works by crushing the target animal as the animal sticks
it's head into the set. The standard trap measures 5" x 5"
and has enough strength to kill most prairie dogs. It does
come in a slightly larger sizeS which may be needed on larger
animals. Like some of the other traps, you should stake it
to the ground to prevent predators from stealing both 
trapped animals along with your trap. This video shows how
to set one using the basic setters. 




TARGET ANIMALS:   Prairie dogs, muskrat, and other small sized
animals though this trap style is available in larger 
sizes for larger animals like beaver and otter.

WHERE TO USE IT:   There are many sets which can be made with
this trap, but the most common is just outside entrance or exit holes.
The rule is to try and set as many traps as you can. By having
a lot of sets you insure a quicker catch. Remember that
most colonies have lots of dogs and will require a consistent
trapping program to knock them down. One trap may work in
a few instances where there are really small populations but
most situations will call for multiple traps being set. Once
sets are made, be sure to monitor them daily. In most cases
you will be able to knock down a good part of the activity
but there may be a hole or two you don't set a trap on which
then becomes a main entrance since you are ignoring it. Be sure to
get a set on it as soon as possible to take out any dog
which may be using it and effectively avoiding your other
sets.

RATE OF APPLICATION:  There is no hard fast rule to follow but
the general one is that the more traps out the quicker you
will get your desired results. It is not uncommon for 
mounds to have 5-10 holes - sometimes more. Though most
of these can be used, they tend to like a few which you
should focus on. It is not uncommon to get a kill from
the same hole over and over. However, if you know you 
are missing an animal or two after most have been had than
you will need to move your sets accordingly. The rule is
the longer you have to trap the wiser the dogs will become.

PACKAGING AND COST:   The most common size to use is the Bodygrip 110
which measures 5" x 5" and is strong enough for most any
prairie dog. If you buy 6-11 you
get a 10% discount. Any order of 12 or more gets a 15%
discount. We also have the Bodygrip 120 traps which are
the same size as 110's but they have two springs instead
of one.  The Bodygrip 160 is a
6" x 6" trap, double spring, which sells for $12.00
and the largest trap is called the Bodygrip 220 and
it measures 7" x 7". It is generally more trap than will
be needed but many people have used them successfully over
the years. The same discount's
