This page features 4 Live Traps that can be used to trap wild hogs. "The Hog Trap" original was the first to hit the market followed by the "Standard ATV" model. In response to demand, the ATV model is now available in a "Deluxe" version which comes with larger wheels. Lastly, the newest model is the "Hog Trap Junior". We had many requests for a smaller sized trap which could be shipped via UPS or Fed Ex instead of the more costly freight lines. We now have one available; details on all 4 traps are listed below.

"THE ORIGINAL HOG TRAP"

4Ft x 4Ft x 7Ft 6inch HOG TRAP

HOG TRAP SIZE:   4 Feet Wide x 4 Feet Tall x 7.5 Feet Long

HOG TRAP FEATURES:   This heavy duty hog live trap has many features which makes it ideal for nuisance feral hogs. First, it's strong enough to catch big animals. Secondly, it's designed to act as a repeating trap. In other words, you can catch several hogs at one time with it. If you place enough bait in it so that the first hog that enters can't quickly eat it all, others will surely follow it inside. And once inside, they can't escape. Here are the key features of the trap.

1)  Large entrance and height insures most wild pigs will enter. Only the biggest hogs, those in excess of several hundred pounds, might not be able to fit. Since most nuisance animals will be in the 150 lb and under range, this trap will work on most all hogs. Keep in mind it has trapped hogs over 300 lbs and one over 400 lbs!!!

2)  Made with 1 1/4" Angle Iron, it's built hog tough and won't break for many years to come.

3)  Galvanized livestock panel wire is mig welded to the angle iron and is hog tested so we know it won't give way - even to the meanest pig!

4)  The trap is fully enclosed, from the top to the bottom, so there is no chance of the hog rolling the cage and escaping. Similar traps without tops and/or bottoms are sure weak spots which smart pigs will capitalize upon.

5)  4 two foot long "T" handles are included and should be used as ground stakes. This will help keep the trap anchored. Even though it weighs around 100 lbs, mad hogs can rock it and move it once trapped. Use these ground stakes to minimize any such movement.

6)  This trap will function as a true repeater type trap. The first hog will enter and the door will close behind him once he starts feeding. Since the door swings in only, other hogs can push it open from the outside but once inside, they cannot escape.

7)  Recommended bait is corn. Place at least 25 lbs of corn over the holding hooks, which can be seen sticking up from the bottom of the trap. The trap is set by attaching the included cable and pulley bar. One end of the cable attaches to the door and runs along the top of the trap to an area above the holding hooks. From there it angles down to the hooks on which the holding bar is set. Corn is set around it, over it and essentially will bury the holding bar. When hogs enter and start to feed, they will inadvertently push the holding bar off the hooks allowing the door to close behind them. Once closed, the door can only be pushed tight from inside; pigs on the outside will be able to push it in and open enough to enter. This will happen if you place more food in the trap then the first pig can eat in a short amount of time. Though 25 lbs would be enough for most sets, using 30-40 lbs is a better idea - especially if you have more then one pig you want to trap.

PIG TRAP SIZE:   4 Feet Wide x 4 Feet Tall x 7.5 Feet Long

PIG TRAP FEATURES:   This heavy duty hog live trap is the same design as the trap featured above except it has wheels and a towing package. These features enable the trap to be hooked to an ATV or Tractor and can then be pulled around as needed. We have two styles of this "wheeled" version. The one pictured above is equipped with 7 inch wheels and designed to be pulled over terrain which is mostly solid and flat. The Deluxe model has wheels which are 10 inches wide and is better suited for rough or muddy terrain. Both our wheeled versions come with the "Bait Pipe", shown in the videos, along with a pair of rubber gloves. The gloves should be used to help keep human scent off the bait once you get the trap out in the field and are ready to make a set. This model features solid wheels, along with a 1 7/8" Ball Receiver and tow bar so it can be hooked up for easy trailering. We also have it a new "Deluxe" model. Basically it's the same trap but the wheels are 10 inch enabling the trap to be pulled over uneven terrain. If you have loose, muddy or somewhat "rough" land on which you plan on using your Hog Trap, get the Deluxe model. Here is a short video showing the larger 10 inch wheeled model.

"THE JUNIOR HOG TRAP"

26 IN. Wide x 30 IN. Tall x 51 IN. Long HOG TRAP JUNIOR

JUNIOR HOG TRAP SIZE:   26 INCHES WIDE x 30 INCHES TALL x 51 INCHES LONG

HOG TRAP FEATURES:   Due to big demand for a hog trap which could be shipped via UPS or Fed Ex, we now offer the "Hog Trap Junior". This smaller verion of the "Original" is essentially the same trap simply put together on a smaller frame. First, it's strong enough to catch and hold animals up to 100 lbs (probably even bigger). Second, it's designed to be long lasting, just like the original. Lastly, we are able to ship this via UPS or Fed Ex "ground" so delivery costs have been greatly reduced compared to the larger traps which must ship via Common Carrier Freight Line (18 wheelers). But this smaller size does reduce the liklihood of multiple catches. Though the door works the same as the original, the Junior isn't designed to be a true "multiple catch". Due mostly to the smaller size, there simply isn't enough room to fit a bunch of wild pigs at one time. However, it can hold a couple of small hogs if they enter. Here are some other features of "Junior".

1)  Big entrance insures small to medium sized wild pigs will readily enter. Don't expect the giants to fit inside the Junior but it's big enough to catch animals over 100 lbs. Since most all nuisance populations will have many animals 25-125 lbs, the Junior can be employed to help most any feral hog management program.

2)  It's built hog tough and won't break for many years to come.

3)  Like the other models, it has galvanized livestock panel wire which is mig welded to the frame. The frame work is made of angle iron and designed to take abuse from any pig large enough to enter.

SHIPPING WEIGHT AND COST:  65-70 lb Actual Weight but it ships "90 lb weight" due to it's dimensions. This trap is ready to use right out of the box and we ship via UPS or Fed Ex ground service. We usually keep several of these in stock at any time.
