If you’re dealing with small pests like SPRINGTAILS or CLOVER MITES, its super important to understand how you arrived to where you are now with the infestation.
These insects don’t come from thin air. They migrate up out of the ground and initially live on or under your homes siding.
From there, they’ll migrate into your walls and eventually come out around windows, doors and baseboards.
This typically takes years but eventually they get into living spaces through windows, doors, attics and wall spaces if you don’t control them under the siding!
So to start on the siding go with MAXXTHOR EC and BOOST. For most siding, it will penetrate deep enough to take them out. Be sure to treat from the GUTTERS down to the base of the foundation.
After treating, plan on going outside to inspect at least 1 hour after dark. Springtails are NOCTURNAL by nature so in the dark (armed with a flashlight) is the best way to spot ongoing issues that need further attention.
And if you have hardy board planks or brick siding, you should see a great reduction pretty quick. BUT often times the treatment won’t penetrate deep enough for siding like Wood Shakes, Aluminum or Vinyl.
So if you have any of these sidings, plan on POWER INJECTING.
Power Injecting will allow you to deliver the Maxxthor where it needs to reach. Typically this will be at any edge found at corners. And the FIRST 4-8 ROWS ARE IMPORTANT TO TREAT ALL THE WAY AROUND THE HOME!
As you can see in this video, Power Injecting is ideal for door frames.
The Penetration of the Power Injection system is second to none and will allow you to get this area purged of all pests as explained here.
And if you have vinyl or aluminum siding over wood siding? Then consider adding BASE OIL.
As you will learn in this next video, Base Oil will allow your treatment to flow through wood.
Now we’re often asked how often you should Power Inject. We’ll that will depend on how often you see them come back. Initially, this will be as often as you see them. So plan on treating more than once a week to start.
But once you’re not seeing them anymore for 1-2 months? Consider dusting them for a more permanent solution.
Due to the SATURATION COEFFICIENT, Power Injected treatments will be absorbed. This is by design and to everyone’s advantage. But it can make the treatment points vulnerable. To keep them from getting re-infested, go with a long lasting dust.
And XEMPT DUST is the best option for this treatment.
First, like insecticide dusts, it will agitate insects and force them to leave the dusted area or else they will die. And once they start moving, if they have dust on them they will die by dehydration.
Directly treated pests will succumb to the dust within a day BUT even as the active ingredient wears off in 1-2 months, the remaining base ingredient will keep working by making pests uncomfortable. So where ordinary dusts break down after 1-2 months and have no way of impacting pests, Xempt’s base lasts and keeps active by retaining its dehydrating feature.
The second most important part of this feature is that Xempt D CAN GET WET BUT WILL STILL WORK! This makes it quite unique and why its so well suited for both dry AND moist environments. The only way it won’t keep working is if you have water moving which causes it to wash away. But when left in place? Xempt dust will keep working!
Use a CRUSADER HAND DUSTER to apply it.
Try to reach as high as you can; a DUSTICK can help reach an extra 20+ feet and both springtails and clover mites commonly live in soffits, gutters and under roof shingles!
So in summary, if you have a current home siding issue, use our HOSE END sprayer to apply the Maxxthor EC and Boost. And if you aren’t seeing favorable results after 2 weeks, move onto Power Injecting.
Once the Power Injector knocks them out for good, treat with Xempt Dust to get the longest lasting residual possible.
